Day 2

We have a lavish buffet breakfast at the Hyatt, hosted by Daimler Chrysler.
'Is there any, um, bread' I ask while my egg is being fried at one counter, only to be waved all the way across to a counter devoted solely to breads and cheeses!

After an interview with the young, nervous looking Thai winner of the Mercedes fashion award, we get down to serious business: shopping. Or well, window shopping and sightseeing, anyway. The bridge, the Peranakan museum from the outside and then rush back to the tent just in time for some mad action from John Paul Gaultier and some tame acts from Givenchy and others.

Quick lunch at a food court, Chokri, an Indian store where the Singaporean sales assistant is bubbling over with joy at 'real Indian journalists' - she's an Indophile it seems, M&S, then back in time for the lingerie show. Not so much fun, but made up for by free G-strings and other assorted freebies in our media kits. :)

At night... dinner at the Borders Bistro and then Zouk. The biggest deal. The brand. The lifestyle. Etc. Mad Guest Relations person who calls himself the manager, has big yellow hair and a diamond encrusted belt saying 'Zouk' takes us around, spicing up the tour with his pelvic thrusts and frank confessions, 'I'm a black man in a yellow body'. We, journalists from across South East Asia, indulge him with a photo shoot.
